The temperatures are dropping steadily in the evenings and the days are cooler and that doesn’t bode well for the plethora of green tomatoes that are still tenaciously hanging from what’s left of my tomato plants in the garden. Last night I went out to gather whatever looked ripe and along with some onions, carrots and garlic that I got at the farm stand, I made one last pot of fresh tomato sauce for dinner. This is the goodness before it went into the oven for roasting.
Here’s what it looked like after about an hour of roasting.
And finally, dinner is served. I miss summer.
