photo of the day (a visit to the barn kitties)
The last time Clare and I went to the barn to visit Cookie Dough, the cat who will be ours in just a few short weeks, I had a feeling that her momma was not happy with all the attention her girls were getting from the farm stand patrons. I was right because when we came to see our kitty, she had moved them and they were nowhere to be found. So while Clare and I were disappointed that we couldn’t give our Cookie a little loving, we went to visit the older boys upstairs.
I don’t know if it’s the age of the kittiens, the experience and temperament of the mother kitty, or a combination of all of the above, but the boys’ mom is much more laid back about visitors stopping by to see her brood. Tiffany keeps a watchful eye over her boys but doesn’t mind at all if they are played with, picked up and otherwise loved. In fact, she has taught Clare her momma kitty technique for calming a kitten down. Hold them by the scruff of their necks and they are immediately in a trance.
See? It really works!
We loved visiting the boys, but we miss the girl kitties. Hopefully, in the next day or so, we’ll know where they are hidden so we can take a peek and continue the bonding process with Cookie. I’ll let you know when we find them!
