photo of the day (a vaulting demo and a girlz day out )

Clare and I had a girlz day out together before our trip on Monday to Montreal where we will celebrate her 11th birthday. I thought some mother-daughter activities were in order and so we started our day out at Gray Friesian Farm, the barn where we are learning to ride. Some of the girls in Clare’s vaulting class were giving a demo as part of a day of farm tours in Easton, CT.

This is Jorritt, a Friesian and one of the most beautiful horses in the barn.

The girls did such a great job and it was so much fun to watch. You can see more of my images from the barn on my Flickr site. If you are interested, you can click the link on the sidebar on the right.

Clare and I couldn’t stay very long at the barn because we had other places to go and things to do on our girlz day out. Here is what we did for most of the rest of the day:

Mother/Daughter mani-pedis! Those are Clare’s green tootsies in those sparking pink flip flops. Here are my ruby red toes:

It was Clare’s first professional mani-pedi and I thought it was a perfect way to spend a mother/daughter day. Clare thought so, too.

Now, with sparkly fingers and toes, we are ready to head to Canada and the big City!
