photo of the day
It was another hot, hot day. It seems that the weather goes from too cold to be Spring to too hot to be June and it happens overnight. Really. One day it was in the mid-sixties and the next it was in the mid-nineties. It’s a good thing that Global Warming is just a myth.
Anyway, to beat the heat, Clare and her friend Erin set the hose up on the swing set so it would spray then down as they swung back and forth. Here they are keeping cool in the blazing heat.
After Erin left I threw together a quick dinner and the kids and I headed over to Richter Park for a benefit concert to raise funds for the restoration of Richter House. Richter Park is located in Danbury, CT and is home to an Arts Center and Golf course. The property used to be a farm and was donated to the town of Danbury by Mrs. Richter in 1968 after her husband died. The original farmhouse has been used by the cast and crew of the Musicals at Richter theater group and is in desperate need of repair or it will be torn down.
The highlights of the evening, besides the performances of many Musicals at Richter performers plus performers from Immaculate High School were the special appearances of:
Michael LaBanca, a performer and understudy in the Broadway production of Young Frankenstein and Clare’s favorite:
Hairspray’s own Tracy Turnblad played by Marissa Perry.
We were also treated to a performance by Penny Pingleton played by:
Niki Scalera (she’s the one in the white dress next to Marissa.
Richter events are always tons of fun and this evening was no different. We met lots of friends there and can’t wait to see the three musicals that will be starting soon: The Music Man, Wonderful Town and Victor, Victoria.
Isn’t summer wonderful?
