Photo of the Day
Finally, there are signs of spring here in Connecticut. And I am thanking my lucky stars that I was not in the UK over the weekend. Believe me, we have had our share of April snowstorms here in New England but I was just not up for one this year.
In spring, the predominant color around here is yellow. Daffodils are everywhere and forsythia is soon to follow. For a while all you see is yellow and green. It’s glorious after the greys, browns and whites of winter.
My parents joined us at church this morning. It was a lovely service and although fundraising (the annual giving campaign, as it is called) was the topic of the morning, I left feeling refreshed and renewed. The daffodils in the picture above are just a few of the 3000 that were planted on the church grounds after Sept. 11th. They aren’t all in bloom yet, just starting, but when they are at their peak, it is a sight to see.
